Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in different countries and on different days depending on the country, for instance: in Canada it is in october, in the United States in November, in Ireland it is in August and in Britain in September. 
It is also celebrated in so many ways ( with a big dinner, bringing food baskets for people in the comunity,...)It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.
Yesterday, our conversation assistants (Lauren and Brendan) celebrated it with their "families".
