THANKSGIVING WITH BRENDAN AND LAUREN! AMAZING!

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in different countries and on different days depending on the country, for instance: in Canada it is in october, in the United States in November, in Ireland it is in August and in Britain in September.

It is also celebrated in so many ways ( with a big dinner, bringing food baskets for people in the comunity,...)

It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.

Yesterday, our conversation assistants (Lauren and Brendan) celebrated it with their "families".

 In 2nd of Primary level, children have coloured different kind of clocks! Did you know that there are hundreds of different clocks all around the world?



We have learnt that one of the most famous element of Dali was the melted clock and we have represented it with an autumn tree.

Look! the leaves are the melted clocks! Isn't it creative?

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE STORYTELLING

Dear families,
we would like to share with you this image that shows how important is the storytelling for our children, above all in early ages.
That is why we tend to work with this resource in English class and also why this years we have started a new activity about storytelling in 1st and 2nd of Primary level with our conversation assistants: Lauren and Brendan.

Yes! They have arrived today at Barcelona! The two conversation assistants now are with "their families"

She is Lauren and is living with Lydia and her parents and He is Brendan who is staying with Joel, Paula and their parents.

 

Welcome Lauren and Brendan! We are really happy! and sure we will enjoy and learn a lot with you!

PICASSO IN OUR ART CLASS!

We have started knowing Picasso in First of Primary level .




We are enjoying a lot with his paintings and we are starting doing an activity about the three main periods of this incredible artist: the blue period, the pink period and the cubism

We have coloured our pictures with watercolours in a special classroom: the art class!

It has been amazing!

IT'S ENGLISH TIME!

Dear families,

As you know we have passed the first week of the course.
We have meet our friends, our teachers and our classes. Moreover we have just started doing English class.
In 1st of Primary we have known Monty and Lola, the two main characters of our English book.
Two funny children that will be with us during the course.
Right now, They are teaching us the numbers (from 1 to 20) and the classroom objects.
In 2nd of Primary, Monty and Lola are still with us and we are getting familiarized, not only with the numbers until 50, but also with the seasons, months and days of the week.

We are sure we will learn a lot with them!

COMING BACK TO SCHOOL!

Yes! here we are again!!!! coming back to school! looking forward to see our friends, our teachers, our books, our chairs... uf!!! I'm so exhausted only thinking about it but I am so happy to come back.

Dear Families!

Guess what???? next Monday( 9th May) our students of 4th and 5th of primary level are seeing a performance in our school called Frankenstein.

Children of 1st, 2nd and 3rd also of primary level are enjoying also seeing another performance that is Georgina and the Dragon and it will be next Friday (13th May).

The company that is coming to our school is IPA PRODUCTIONS.

We work with them since 4 years ago and they are just amazing!

Sure we will enjoy a lot!!!!

ANDY WARHOL IN 1ST GRADE!

Children from 1st grade of primary level have recently done an activity about serygraphies like ANDY WARHOL did.








He used to make serygraphies with photos of famous people like Michael Jackson, Merylin Monroe, John Lenon... and characters like the known Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck...





We have done seryghraphies of our hands! it has been really funny and interesting! and we have decorated the school's corridor with them! look! aren't they fantastic?

MONUMENTS AROUND THE WORLD!!

Children from 3rd have worked on PUNTILLISM! They have done this technique to create a world map with different monuments around the world.  It's fantastic!!!!

           

       

"THE BOTTLE MAN"

In 2nd of Primary level we've just started studying RENÉ MAGRITTE.

VAN GOGH, A NEW EXPERIENCE FOR US IN ART CLASS!

We have started a new term and also a new topic in Cicle Superior. 

Today we have searched for information on the internet about Van Gogh to learn different facts about his life and his work. 

To do it we have used the new laptops that we have got at school! 

During all the term we are learning new things about this artist and his paintings.
